The Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia is one of the last places on Earth where dozens of distinct ethnic groups still practice traditions that stretch back centuries. The Mursi, Hamer, Karo, Dassanech, Bena, Ari, Tsemay, and more — each with their own language, customs, and ceremonies.
Visiting these communities is a privilege. Done respectfully, it creates real economic benefit for local families while preserving traditions that might otherwise disappear. Our guides were born here — they speak the languages, know the villages, and have relationships built over generations.
